Westington Hill Farm is located in a secluded position above Chipping Campden within the Cotswold AONB. The farm stood derelict for many years as a redundant collection of agricultural buildings. The brief to convert the barn into a single family home entailed removal of modern agricultural buildings and sensitive transformation of the 19th century stone threshing barn.

The organisational concept created a south facing courtyard house with new projecting wings to either side of the barn. Local limestone and oak cladding were chosen to complement the Cotswold upland surroundings. A Ground Source Heat Pump was employed along with a specification for insulation well in excess of Building Control requirements to provide efficient energy consumption.

All stone used to tile the floors and showers in the house was quarried, cut and prepared by the contractor on site. The barn was repaired with the assistance of specialist lime plaster conservators, the roof being carefully dismantled and rebuilt using new timbers only where necessary.
