Holland Park Gardens

Full refurbishment of Edwardian mansion block apartment in Holland Park.
Holland Park Gardens, London W14

The brief was to adapt the apartment to accommodate contemporary patterns of living whilst retaining the original character of the Edwardian block. Having explored a number of reconfigurations of rooms the original layout was retained.

Emphasis was placed on relationships between spaces in the context of the roof top setting. The enlarged kitchen was placed at the heart of the spatial organisation through the use of a continuous band of glazing the length of the room. This intervention further augmented circulation along an eleven metre corridor between reception and bedrooms. Original features were retained and restored such as the cast iron fireplaces.
